Mrs. Sankinah Merriweather
Our Chief Instructor , Founder and Ceo, has more than twenty years of experience providing service to the cosmetology industry. Mrs. Merriweather is a licensed Cosmetologist and licensed Cosmetology Instructor. Kinah’s cosmetology journey began after graduating from the Freehold Vocational Program and continuing her education at Dudley Cosmetology University, Kernersville, NC. It was at Dudley Cosmetology University where she received her instructor training certification with honors. The passion for teaching Cosmetology was in her from day one. Her tenure at Dudley helped to develop the skill of teaching thereby enhancing her gift. Kinah loves to teach and help others; she instructs both aspiring and active cosmetology professional both domestically and abroad. She has been faithfully educating aspiring Cosmetologists for more than sixteen (16) years; she is aggressively working towards the fulfillment of a life-long goal. Kinah is planning to open an Advanced Cosmetology Business School focusing on business and salon training in the near future.
As you know, Kinah has left her mark at every school she has ever had the privilege of working for. As a licensed cosmetology instructor she has provided curriculums and specialty instruction from texture specialist, retail lead, and final phase (state board preparation), platform artistry, and lead local educator for companies which include, but not limited to: Influance Hair Care Product line, Paul Mitchell, and the Weave Experts International Team. Mrs. Merriweather went through extensive training with Dudley, Influance Hair care, Nioxin,, Paul Mitchell, Weave Xperts International, and numerous other classes to rightly proclaim the title of Hair Care Therapist/Specialist! She takes great pride in helping both clients and cosmetology students to better understand the art of haircare and salon business. “Maintaining the integrity of the hair strand by strand” is her mantra which also became the mission of her salon, Strandz Salon and Spa in 2011. Kinah and her salon participated in several events with much recognition. Not only her but her team of educated stylist were value added additions to: Bronner Brothers Hair Show/ Atlanta GA, Charleston Fashion Week, Hair Ect. Show /Charleston SC, Black Epxo /Charleston SC, Influance National Educator Symposium /Newport News VA, Low Country Hair Exposure/ Charleston SC, Premiere Hair Show /Orlando FL and Birmingham AL, and Rip the Runway Fashion Show/ Wilmington NC. She has also been featured in the following publications which include, but not limited to: Black Hair Magazine, Black Hair Sophisticate Magazine, and Post & Courier News Paper.
Kinah is now recognized as a leading educator through both seminars and workshops both domestically and abroad. She has assumed the title of The RetailBoss with the "Retail To Retire" brand to arm barbers, nail techs, make-up artist, salon owners, and stylist with the information necessary to increase gross revenue potential. She continues to passionately educate new cosmetology professionals before they establish poor habits which might negatively impact their earning potential. Kinah loves preparing future professionals to enter the business of cosmetology through her direct and practical approach. In addition, she continues to make guest appearances across the country in an effort encourage, inspire, and motive others within the cosmetology industry. Kinah is working diligently to open the first advanced cosmetology institute of its kind later this year. Which has driven her to start online school “THE RETAILBOSS University". To educate driven Beauty Industry Professionals all over the world. She determined and will not stop until she makes a mark in the cosmetology industry that will be adapted from coast to coast. Kinah is a passionate follower of Christ that strives for continual improvement in every area of her life. Because of her strong foundation she continues to be a visionary and game changer in her industry.
